DESCRIPTION

The kantha stich is said to be one of the oldest forms of indian embroidery dating back over 500 years. A simple running stich, it was first said to be used by Lord Buddha and his disciples convert old rags into a patched quilts to keep warm at night. This technique in the hands of women artisans eventually became a form of representing day to day life and the beauty around them.
