The kantha stich is said to be one of the oldest forms of indian embroidery dating back over 500 years.A simple running stich, it was first said to be used by Lord Buddha and his disciples convert old rags into a patched quilts to keep warm at night. This technique in the hands of women artisans eventually became a form of representing day to day life and the beauty around them.
